Stars come out for Radio 1's 40th birthday
To celebrate 40 years since Radio 1 first came on air, the station has persuaded some music legends to show off their DJ skills. Starting on Monday September 17 with Paul McCartney, the hour-long evening shows will see the stars playing the tunes that inspired them and in some way led them to make music themselves. Dave Grohl, Gwen Stefani, Paul Weller, Paul Oakenfold will follow on subsequent days, with Noel Gallagher, Debbie Harry, Arctic Monkeys, Ozzy Osbourne and Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim) lined up for the following week. ...more...
